New Jajpur Medical College to Begin MBBS Admissions This Year

The newly established Jajati Keshari Medical College and Hospital (MCH) in Jajpur, Odisha, is set to begin its MBBS course from the upcoming academic session, following the recent approval from the Medical Assessment & Rating Board (MARB) of the National Medical Commission (NMC).

The Health and Family Welfare Department announced on Thursday that the NMC has approved 50 MBBS seats for the 2024-25 academic year at the new government medical college. This development was confirmed through the issuance of the Letter of Permission (LoP) by the NMC.

The establishment of Jajati Keshari Medical College marks a significant milestone as it becomes the 12th government medical college in Odisha and the first to commence operations in the current year. The new institution is expected to play a crucial role in addressing the growing demand for medical education in the region.

The college’s opening is anticipated to enhance the healthcare infrastructure in Jajpur and provide local students with an opportunity to pursue medical education closer to home. The addition of these 50 MBBS seats will contribute to the broader goal of increasing the number of trained medical professionals in the state.
