Navi Mumbai Airport to Boost Aviation

Navi Mumbai Airport to Play Key Role in India’s Aviation Growth: Adani Group
The upcoming Navi Mumbai International Airport, set to be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on October 8, is expected to play a significant role in establishing India as a global aviation hub, according to a senior Adani Group official.
The official highlighted that the airport will provide a crucial boost if domestic carriers like Air India and IndiGo seek to expand their networks and create a major aviation hub in the country.
The first phase of the airport, built at an investment of around ₹19,500 crore, features one terminal and one runway and is designed to handle 20 million passengers annually.
The official also revealed that the design of the second terminal, which will have a capacity of 30 million passengers per annum, is being finalized, with construction expected to begin within this fiscal year.
Navi Mumbai International Airport is seen as a key infrastructure project aimed at reducing pressure on Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport, enhancing connectivity, and supporting India’s growing air travel demand.
