Nalco, SDI partner to train Odisha youths

Nalco Signs MoU with SDI to Train Local Youths in Odisha
The National Aluminium Company Ltd (Nalco) on Thursday signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Skill Development Institute (SDI), Bhubaneswar, to provide skill training to youths from villages surrounding its mining and industrial operations in Angul.
The agreement was signed between the Nalco Foundation and SDI in Bhubaneswar, officials said.
Under the initiative, 30 youths each from periphery villages at Damanjodi & Refinery Complex and Smelter & Power Complex, Angul, will undergo three-month residential training programmes. The training will be conducted in line with the National Skills Qualification Framework (NSQF) guidelines of the National Skill Development Council (NSDC).
Officials stated that the programme aims to enhance the employability of rural youths by equipping them with industry-relevant skills, enabling them to secure livelihood opportunities in various sectors.
The collaboration between Nalco and SDI is part of the company’s larger commitment towards corporate social responsibility (CSR) and inclusive growth in mining-affected regions.
