NABARD Projects Odisha’s Credit Potential at ₹2.52 Lakh Crore for 2025-26

The National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) has pegged Odisha’s credit potential for the 2025-26 financial year at ₹2,52,000 crore. The projection was revealed in the bank’s State Focus Paper, which was released during a seminar in Bhubaneswar on Saturday.

According to NABARD, the estimated credit potential of ₹2,51,952 crore marks a nearly 20% increase from the previous year’s projection of ₹2,10,140 crore. The rise underscores the growing financial needs of the state’s agricultural, rural, and allied sectors.

The State Focus Paper serves as a key planning document for financial institutions and policymakers, guiding credit deployment in priority sectors. NABARD officials emphasized that the increased projection reflects Odisha’s expanding economic activities, particularly in agriculture, small-scale industries, and rural infrastructure.

The seminar also highlighted the role of institutional credit in boosting farmers’ income, promoting entrepreneurship, and supporting rural livelihoods. NABARD urged banks and stakeholders to enhance credit flow to priority sectors to drive inclusive growth in the state.

With a significant increase in the projected credit potential, Odisha is poised to witness further financial support for its development initiatives in the coming fiscal year.
