Modi Urges States: Act as Team

PM Modi Emphasizes ‘Team India’ Approach for Investment Growth at NITI Aayog Meet
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday called for greater cooperation between the Centre and states, asserting that when they work together as “Team India,” no goal is beyond reach. Speaking at the 10th Governing Council meeting of NITI Aayog, the Prime Minister urged states to capitalise on global interest in India and attract investments by removing policy bottlenecks.
Highlighting recent progress in trade relations, Modi pointed out that India has entered into trade agreements with key global partners, including the United Kingdom, the United Arab Emirates, and Australia. He stressed that these developments provide states with a valuable opportunity to enhance economic growth and must be optimally leveraged.
“There is immense global interest in investing in India,” Modi said. “States should align their policies and act swiftly to seize this momentum. Together, as Team India, we can achieve even the most ambitious targets.”
The meeting, which saw participation from 31 out of 36 states and Union Territories, focused on the themes of cooperative federalism, economic transformation, and inclusive development. NITI Aayog CEO B V R Subrahmanyam briefed reporters, noting that the absentees had informed the Council in advance due to prior commitments.
The discussions also covered sectoral strategies for achieving the goals of Viksit Bharat @2047, a vision for making India a developed nation by its centenary of independence.
The Prime Minister’s remarks come amid an intensified push by the Centre to accelerate infrastructure development, reform governance, and make India a global manufacturing and investment hub.
