Mayank Yadav Credits Bumrah For Comeback

Mayank Yadav credits Bumrah for recovery journey
Indian pacer Mayank Yadav has said that a series of injuries and subsequent surgery have made him more aware about fitness and recovery, marking a turning point in his career.
The 23-year-old, who endured multiple injury setbacks since Indian Premier League 2024, including a serious back issue that ruled him out of the Indian Premier League 2025, is now set to make his return for Lucknow Super Giants.
Reflecting on his journey, Mayank admitted that he previously neglected recovery routines but has since adopted a disciplined approach towards fitness, nutrition and rest following surgery.
He also credited senior India pacer Jasprit Bumrah for guiding him during his rehabilitation phase. Interactions with Bumrah at the Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru played a key role in shaping his comeback.
“The more I respect my body, the more my body respects me on the field,” Mayank said, highlighting the importance of maintaining physical well-being for sustained performance.
With his recovery complete, the young fast bowler is aiming for a strong comeback and to contribute effectively for his franchise in the upcoming season.
