Majhi thanks PM Modi, Gadkari for NH-326 project approval

Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Wednesday thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the Centre’s approval to widen a key stretch of National Highway-326 passing through the state’s tribal districts.

He also expressed gratitude to Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari for the Union Cabinet’s nod to the proposal for widening and strengthening the Mohana–Koraput section of NH-326 at an estimated cost of Rs 1,526.21 crore.

Majhi said the project would significantly improve all-weather connectivity to remote and interior regions of southern Odisha, especially the tribal-dominated districts of Koraput, Rayagada and Gajapati. He added that better road infrastructure would enhance access to markets, healthcare, education and employment opportunities, accelerating overall socio-economic development in the region.

The chief minister noted that the initiative reflects the Centre’s commitment to improving infrastructure in backward and aspirational areas and would play a crucial role in boosting regional growth and connectivity.
