KIIT University to host 61st Femina Miss India Grand Finale
Bhubaneswar, Mar 11 : KIIT Deemed to be University will host the 61st edition of the Femina Miss India Grand Finale in April, bringing a major national entertainment event to the city and marking a historic milestone for both the institution and eastern India.
An MoU formalising the partnership was signed in Mumbai on Wednesday between KIIT and the organisers of Femina Miss India. With this agreement, KIIT becomes the first university in India to host the prestigious beauty pageant’s grand finale. It will also be the first time the event’s finale is being organised in eastern India.
The agreement was signed in the presence of Achyuta Samanta, founder of KIIT and Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS). The signatories included Saranjit Singh, Vice Chancellor of KIIT; S. S. Ray, Director General of the KIIT School of Architecture; and Rohit Gopakumar, Chief Executive Officer of The Times Group.
About four months ago, representatives from the Femina Miss India team visited the KIIT and KISS campuses to review the university’s infrastructure. Impressed by the world-class facilities and arrangements, the organisers selected KIIT as the venue for the grand finale.
Speaking on the occasion, Achyuta Samanta described hosting the prestigious event as a matter of pride and honour for KIIT, KISS and the state of Odisha. He also expressed gratitude to Vineet Jain, Managing Director of The Times Group, along with CEO Rohit Gopakumar and the Femina Miss India team for choosing KIIT as the host venue.
The grand finale is expected to bring significant national attention and glamour to Bhubaneswar, further positioning the region as a growing hub for major cultural and entertainment events.
