Kalinga Nagar Industry Body Seeks CM’s Intervention in Transportation Dispute

The Kalinga Nagar Industries Association (KNIA) has appealed to Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, requesting his intervention to resolve an alleged monopoly by local truckers in determining transportation rates.

In a letter submitted on Wednesday, KNIA president P. L. Kandoi claimed that truckers’ associations in the industrial region exert undue influence, dictating terms for price fixation related to goods transportation.

Highlighting concerns over alleged high-handedness and unfair practices, Kandoi urged the chief minister to instruct the Jajpur district administration and police to conduct a comprehensive investigation into the issue. The association has called for immediate corrective measures to ensure fair practices and smooth operations in the industrial hub.

The Kalinga Nagar industrial area, a key manufacturing zone in Odisha, has reportedly been facing disruptions due to the ongoing dispute, impacting the region’s economic activities.
