Job Racket Busted in Odisha’s Ganjam, 3 Arrested

Odisha Police on Monday dismantled a job racket in Ganjam district, arresting three individuals accused of deceiving numerous job aspirants with false employment promises in the government sector.

The gang allegedly defrauded at least 20 people across various districts, offering fake assurances of government jobs in exchange for significant payments.

During the operation, the police seized a newly purchased car, a money counting machine, mobile phones, and a counterfeit appointment letter, confirmed SP Saravana Vivek M.

“The accused exploited the aspirations of young job seekers by luring them with promises of lucrative government employment,” Vivek added.

The arrests followed extensive investigations prompted by complaints from victims. Police are now probing whether the gang has links to similar scams in other parts of the state.

Authorities have urged citizens to remain cautious and verify job offers with official sources to avoid falling prey to such frauds.
