Jharkhand to Study Odisha’s Mining Revenue Model, Says Finance Minister
Jharkhand’s Finance Minister, Radhakrishna Kishore, announced plans to dispatch a team to Odisha to learn strategies for boosting revenue from the mining sector.
Despite holding 40% of India’s mineral reserves, Jharkhand generates only ₹11,000-12,000 crore annually from mining, significantly lower than Odisha’s ₹40,000 crore.
“We need to explore ways to increase the state’s revenue. If we make a little effort in the mining sector, we can achieve substantial growth,” Kishore told PTI on Saturday.
This initiative aims to identify best practices and strengthen Jharkhand’s financial prospects.
