JCCI Urges More Amarnath Registration Counters

JCCI Delegation Meets LG Sinha, Seeks More Registration Counters for Amarnath Pilgrims

A delegation from the Jammu Chamber of Commerce and Industry (JCCI) met with Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Wednesday to discuss key concerns related to the ongoing Amarnath Yatra and the broader interests of the business community.

Led by JCCI President Arun Gupta, the six-member delegation submitted several requests, prominently calling for an increase in the number of registration counters for Amarnath pilgrims. The delegation said that the existing counters are inadequate to handle the growing rush of devotees, leading to long queues and inconvenience for the pilgrims.

An official spokesperson stated that the delegation appreciated the administration’s efforts in ensuring a safe and peaceful Yatra but emphasized the need for smoother facilitation, particularly in the registration process. “More token counters will help manage the pilgrim flow efficiently and reduce waiting time,” the delegation noted.

In addition to Yatra-related issues, the JCCI team also raised various concerns affecting the business and trade community in the region. These included requests for infrastructural improvements, better coordination between departments, and policy support for local traders and entrepreneurs.

Lieutenant Governor Sinha assured the delegation that their concerns would be taken seriously and addressed promptly to ensure the smooth conduct of the Amarnath Yatra and the welfare of the local business community.

The annual Amarnath pilgrimage, a significant religious event in Jammu and Kashmir, draws thousands of devotees each year. Efficient management and strong support from the administration remain critical to its success.
