IndiGo Cancels Over 220 Flights

IndiGo Cancels Over 220 Flights at Delhi, Mumbai Airports as Disruptions Enter Sixth Day
IndiGo’s operational turmoil continued for the sixth consecutive day on Sunday, forcing the airline to cancel more than 220 flights across major hubs in Delhi and Mumbai, leaving thousands of passengers stranded amid growing frustration.
According to sources, at least 112 flights were cancelled at Mumbai airport, while 109 flights were scrapped at Delhi airport, marking one of the largest single-day disruptions since the crisis began earlier this week.
The wave of cancellations and delays has caused significant hardship for travellers, with long queues, overcrowded terminals, and last-minute schedule changes becoming routine. Passengers have taken to social media with videos and complaints, highlighting poor communication and lack of clarity from the airline.
IndiGo has been attempting to stabilise operations after days of widespread disruptions linked to a severe shortage of crew availability triggered by recent regulatory changes and operational mismanagement. The airline has assured passengers that recovery efforts are underway, but normalcy may take more time as the backlog continues to pile up.
Authorities are monitoring the situation closely as the crisis shows little sign of immediate resolution.
