NEW DELHI: India coach Igor Stimac has unveiled a 26-member probables list for the FIFA World Cup 2026 Preliminary Joint Qualification round two matches against Kuwait and Qatar, featuring four I-League players.

Among the notable inclusions is Mizoram’s 23-year-old forward David Lalhlansanga, who played a pivotal role in Mohammedan Sporting’s recent I-League triumph and subsequent promotion to the ISL. David’s inclusion bolsters India’s forward lineup, which already boasts the talismanic Sunil Chhetri.

Joining David in the probables list is Aizawl FC’s forward Lalrinzuala Lalbiaknia, alongside Real Kashmir defender Muhammad Hammad and Inter Kashi midfielder Edmund Lalrindika.

With an eye on the crucial World Cup qualifiers, the inclusion of these talented players reflects India’s commitment to harnessing talent from various domestic leagues, further strengthening the national team’s prospects on the international stage.
