India Inc Raises Record Rs 1.21 Lakh Crore via QIPs in 2024

New Delhi, December 15, 2024 – Fundraising through Qualified Institutional Placements (QIPs) has reached an all-time high in 2024, with Indian companies raising a record Rs 1.21 lakh crore till November, according to data from Prime Database. This marks the first time QIP fundraising has surpassed Rs 1 lakh crore in a calendar year, more than doubling the Rs 52,350 crore raised in 2023.
The surge in QIP activity is driven by strong stock market conditions, higher valuations, and an overall positive investment climate. Companies have leveraged the buoyant market to access capital at favorable terms, fueling growth and expansion plans.
QIPs remain a popular fundraising tool for large firms, allowing them to raise capital quickly from qualified institutional buyers without public offerings. Experts predict continued strong fundraising activity into 2025, as Indian markets and investor confidence remain robust.
About QIPs:
QIPs allow companies to raise capital by issuing equity or convertible securities to qualified institutional buyers, offering a quicker, more efficient alternative to public offerings.
