India Imports 8.47 Lakh Tonnes of DAP Fertiliser from China

India has imported 8.47 lakh tonnes of di-ammonium phosphate (DAP) fertiliser from China until February in the current fiscal year, according to government data.
Chinese imports accounted for 19.17% of India’s total DAP imports, which stood at 44.19 lakh tonnes during this period. This marks a decline from the previous fiscal year, when China supplied 22.28 lakh tonnes, contributing nearly 40% of India’s overall DAP imports of 55.67 lakh tonnes.
DAP is a crucial fertiliser for India’s agricultural sector, and the country continues to rely on imports to meet domestic demand. The shift in import patterns may reflect evolving trade dynamics and supply chain adjustments.
