Hundal to Lead Indian Junior Men’s Hockey Team in Germany 4-Nation Tournament

Experienced drag-flicker Araijeet Singh Hundal has been named captain of the 24-member Indian junior men’s hockey team for the upcoming 4-Nation Tournament in Berlin, scheduled from June 21 to 25. The tournament will serve as a key preparation for the Junior World Cup set to take place later this year in Chennai and Madurai.

India will compete against Spain, Australia, and host Germany in this competitive event. The tournament is regarded as a crucial step in the team’s development and readiness for the upcoming Junior World Cup, which is scheduled for November-December.

Former India goalkeeper and junior men’s coach PR Sreejesh emphasized the importance of the tournament, stating, “The tournament is a significant part of our preparation roadmap for the FIH Junior World Cup later this year. It will give us the chance to play against top-quality international opponents in a competitive setting, which is crucial for the development of these young players.”

The Indian team aims to build on their experience from this tournament to perform well in the upcoming Junior World Cup and achieve success on the international stage.
