Huma Qureshi’s Police Drama ‘Bayaan’ to Premiere at Toronto International Film Festival

Actor Huma Qureshi’s upcoming police procedural thriller Bayaan is set to make its world premiere at the prestigious 2025 Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF). The film will be showcased under the Discovery section, which highlights debut and second features from emerging filmmakers worldwide.

Directed by Bikas Ranjan Mishra, known for his acclaimed 2014 debut Chauranga, Bayaan marks a significant cinematic return for the filmmaker and features Qureshi in a gritty, lead role as a police officer navigating a complex investigation.

The film stands out as the only Indian entry in the Discovery section this year, spotlighting India’s growing presence on the global independent cinema stage.
