Households’ Inflation Expectations Rise to 8.2% in July: RBI Survey
According to a survey released by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) on Thursday, households’ median expectation of inflation increased to 8.2 percent in July. This represents a 0.20 percentage point rise from the previous survey round.
The RBI’s survey results indicate that households’ perception of current inflation also grew by 0.20 percentage points, reaching 8.2 percent. Furthermore, expectations for inflation over the next three months and the coming year also saw a similar increase of 0.20 percent each.
The rise in inflation expectations reflects growing concerns among households about the cost of living and the economic outlook. The survey’s findings suggest that inflation remains a significant concern for the public, influencing their economic sentiments and financial planning.
The increase in inflation expectations may prompt further scrutiny by policymakers as they assess economic conditions and consider appropriate measures to manage inflationary pressures and stabilize the economy.
