HFCL Reports Rs 83 Crore Loss in Q4 on Declining Optical Fibre Demand
Homegrown telecom equipment manufacturer HFCL has reported a loss of Rs 83 crore in the quarter ending March 2025, a sharp downturn attributed to a significant decline in demand for optical fibre products.
The company had recorded a consolidated profit after tax (PAT) of Rs 109 crore in the same quarter last year, marking a notable reversal in profitability.
HFCL’s consolidated revenue also took a major hit, falling nearly 39% to Rs 800.72 crore during the March quarter, down from Rs 1,326 crore in the year-ago period.
The results reflect ongoing challenges in the telecom sector, particularly reduced demand for fibre optic infrastructure, which has impacted HFCL’s financial performance in the recent quarter.
