Heavy Rainfall in Northern Odisha

Bhubaneswar, September 15, 2024: Northern Odisha districts, bordering West Bengal, experienced significant rainfall on Saturday. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted further downpours in the coming days.

Kusumi in Mayurbhanj district recorded the highest rainfall at 136 mm, followed by Bhogorai and Jaleswar in Balasore at 104 mm and 67 mm, respectively, in the past 24 hours ending at 8.30 am on Saturday.

As the deep depression in the Bay of Bengal moves towards Gangetic West Bengal, the IMD has forecast heavy to very heavy rainfall in several regions of neighboring Odisha over the next two days.
