Harmanpreet eyes maiden World Cup triumph

Harmanpreet Kaur ahead of final: ‘We know how it feels to lose, now want to experience winning’

On the eve of the ICC Women’s World Cup final, India captain Harmanpreet Kaur expressed her team’s hunger to turn past heartbreaks into triumph as they prepare to face South Africa at the DY Patil Stadium on Sunday.

Reflecting on India’s past near-misses in major tournaments, Harmanpreet said the team is driven by the desire to finally lift a global title.

“We know how it feels to lose. But we are looking forward to how it feels to win,” she said. “Hopefully, tomorrow will be a special day for us. We’ve worked really hard, and now it’s about executing everything perfectly for the team.”

India’s consistent performances throughout the tournament have raised hopes of a historic victory, as the final will produce a new champion in women’s cricket alongside previous winners Australia, England, and New Zealand.
