Acclaimed filmmakers Hansal Mehta, Kiran Rao, and veteran actor Anil Kapoor extended their heartfelt congratulations to director Payal Kapadia as her debut feature film All We Imagine As Light secured twin nominations at the prestigious Golden Globe Awards 2025.

The Malayalam-Hindi film has been nominated for Best Motion Picture – Non-English Language and Best Direction – Motion Picture, making Kapadia one of the few Indian filmmakers to receive such international acclaim.

The narrative-driven drama had already made waves earlier this year by winning the Grand Prix Award at the Cannes Film Festival, a historic achievement for Indian cinema.

Mehta and Rao hailed the milestone as a significant recognition of Indian cinema on the global stage. “This moment belongs to all of us. It reaffirms the power of storytelling across borders,” said Rao in her message on X (formerly Twitter).

The Golden Globe Awards 2025 will take place in January, promising another monumental moment for Indian cinema.
