Ganjam Begins Subarnapur Village Electrification

Work Begins to Electrify Subarnapur Village in Odisha’s Ganjam After CM’s Directive

The Ganjam district administration has initiated the long-awaited electrification work in Subarnapur, a remote hamlet in Odisha’s coastal district, following the instructions of Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi.

During his inaugural address at the two-day District Collectors’ and SPs Conference in Bhubaneswar on Monday, the Chief Minister highlighted Subarnapur’s lack of electricity and directed the Ganjam Collector to ensure urgent action to bring power to the tribal settlement.

Acting swiftly on the directive, officials from the district administration along with teams from Tata Power Southern Odisha Distribution Limited (TPSODL) visited the hamlet on Tuesday. They began installing around 30 electric poles and a 25-kVA transformer to electrify the village, which is home to 25 households.

Officials said the electrification drive aims to improve the quality of life in the tribal hamlet and ensure access to basic amenities. The project is expected to be completed soon, paving the way for reliable power supply for the residents of Subarnapur.
