Eating Almonds May Aid Post-Exercise Recovery: Study

A new study suggests that eating almonds regularly could significantly aid in post-exercise recovery by reducing muscle fatigue and soreness. Published in Current Developments in Nutrition, the research indicates that almonds may improve recovery after physical activity, encouraging greater adherence to exercise routines.

Conducted by a team from San Diego State University, the study involved 26 middle-aged adults who exercised between one to four hours a week. Over eight weeks, participants consumed either 60 grams of whole raw almonds or about 90 grams of unsalted pretzels daily. The findings could pave the way for further research into the role of almonds in enhancing physical training outcomes.
