Aditya Dhar’s ‘Dhurandhar’ Becomes Highest-Grossing Hindi Film Ever
Filmmaker Aditya Dhar’s Dhurandhar has scripted history at the Indian box office, emerging as the highest-earning Hindi film of all time with a nett domestic collection of over Rs 831 crore, the makers announced on Wednesday.
According to the production team, the Ranveer Singh-starrer earned Rs 5.70 crore nett on its 33rd day in theatres on Tuesday, taking its total India nett collection to Rs 831.40 crore. With this milestone, Dhurandhar has secured the top spot among all Hindi film releases to date.
“History has been rewritten. With Tuesday’s collections, Dhurandhar has officially risen to become the highest-earning Hindi film of all time, a towering achievement that has redefined Indian box office success,” the makers said in a statement.
Directed by Aditya Dhar, the film has enjoyed a sustained and strong run at the box office, driven by positive word-of-mouth and continued audience interest even in its fifth week of release. Trade analysts have noted that the film’s consistent earnings over an extended period have played a key role in pushing it past previous records.
The record-breaking performance of Dhurandhar further cements Dhar’s position as one of Hindi cinema’s most successful contemporary filmmakers and reinforces Ranveer Singh’s box office pull as a leading star.
