Cyclonic Storm Likely to Form Over Bay of Bengal by October 23, May Impact Odisha and West Bengal

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has warned that a cyclonic storm is expected to form over the Bay of Bengal by October 23, potentially affecting the coastal regions of Odisha and West Bengal.

According to a special weather bulletin issued on Sunday, an upper air cyclonic circulation over the Andaman Sea is likely to intensify into a low-pressure area over the Bay of Bengal within the next 24 hours. The system is predicted to strengthen into a depression by the morning of October 22 and may develop into a cyclonic storm by October 23 over the east-central Bay of Bengal.

The storm is expected to move in a west-northwestward direction, potentially bringing heavy rains and strong winds to the coastal regions of Odisha and West Bengal. Authorities are monitoring the situation closely and are likely to issue additional advisories in the coming days.
