Chamber of Tax Consultants marks centenary with landmark Shatabdi Summit

The Chamber of Tax Consultants (CTC), a leading not-for-profit professional association dedicated to the advancement of tax, accounting, legal and allied professions, celebrated 100 years of its establishment with a landmark centenary event titled “The Shatabdi Summit: Centenary Conference.”

The summit brought together prominent figures from industry and the professional community, reflecting the organisation’s century-long contribution to service, scholarship and leadership in the financial and regulatory domain. Speakers at the event shared insights on India’s evolving economic and regulatory landscape and the growing role of professionals in navigating change.

The conference was graced by Arijit Basu, Chairman-Designate (Non-Executive) of IndusInd Bank, who attended as the Chief Guest and Keynote Speaker. Delivering a keynote address on “Resilient Finance and Responsible Growth in India’s Economic Journey: the Key Role of Professionals,” Basu emphasised the need for ethical stewardship, institutional resilience and long-term vision in sustaining India’s economic progress.

Basu brings extensive experience across banking, insurance, regulation and global finance, having previously served as Managing Director of the State Bank of India and MD & CEO of SBI Life Insurance. Organisers described the centenary summit as a milestone moment that reaffirmed the Chamber’s commitment to professional excellence and knowledge sharing in the years ahead.
