Crompton Secures ₹10.60 Crore Solar Pump Order

Crompton Greaves Receives ₹10.60 Crore Solar Water Pump Order from MEDA
Crompton Greaves Consumer Electricals Ltd. has strengthened its commitment to renewable energy by securing a significant order for 433 solar water pumps under the prestigious PM-KUSUM scheme. The Maharashtra Energy Development Agency (MEDA) awarded the company a Letter of Award (LoA) worth ₹10.60 crore for the design, supply, installation, and commissioning of Solar Photovoltaic Water Pumping Systems (SPWPS) across various locations in Maharashtra.

The solar-powered water pumps are part of Crompton’s ongoing efforts to provide sustainable and efficient solutions for agriculture, particularly in rural and off-grid areas with limited access to conventional electricity. This move aligns with India’s national objective of transitioning farmers to renewable energy sources, thus promoting economic and environmental benefits.

Crompton’s pumps, engineered with rust-free stainless steel construction, are designed to withstand corrosion and offer long-term durability in a variety of challenging applications such as irrigation and groundwater extraction. The company’s extensive service network and trusted performance make it well-equipped to meet the increasing demand for clean energy solutions in the country.

Speaking on the achievement, Mr. Rajat Chopra, Business Head – Home Electricals & Pumps, Crompton Greaves Consumer Electricals Ltd., expressed pride in the partnership with MEDA. He highlighted the company’s commitment to quality, innovation, and sustainability, noting that the solar-powered pumps would play a significant role in supporting India’s clean energy and water access goals.

This order follows Crompton’s active participation in the tender process across four states—Haryana, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, and Madhya Pradesh—and comes as part of Component-B of the PM-KUSUM scheme. Crompton is already operational in Haryana, Rajasthan, and Maharashtra, and is gearing up for its next phase in Madhya Pradesh.

The company’s push towards renewable energy solutions also reinforces its leadership in the submersible water pump market, where the demand for solar-powered systems is growing rapidly, especially in agricultural regions dependent on consistent water supply. As India continues to embrace green energy, Crompton is playing a key role in enabling sustainable progress in agriculture through reliable solar-powered pumping systems
