Courchevel Targets Indian Travelers for Growth

Courchevel Tourisme Targets 5% of Total Stays from Indian Travelers in Five Years

French ski destination Courchevel is actively courting Indian travelers as part of its long-term growth strategy, aiming for 5% of its total nights sold to come from Indian visitors within the next five years.

Courchevel Tourisme, the official tourism body of the renowned French Alps resort, has been promoting the destination in India since the COVID-19 pandemic, focusing on attracting tourists from beyond Europe.

“We are trying to develop ourselves. We see real opportunities in Asia, especially in India,” said Alexia Laine, Managing Director of Courchevel Tourisme, in an interaction with PTI.

The move aligns with the increasing trend of Indian travelers seeking offbeat and luxury travel experiences. With its world-class skiing infrastructure, luxury accommodations, and vibrant après-ski scene, Courchevel is positioning itself as a prime destination for Indian tourists looking for winter getaways.

The French resort’s efforts include targeted marketing campaigns, collaborations with Indian travel agencies, and tailored experiences catering to Indian preferences. Industry experts believe this push could significantly boost Indian tourist footfall in the region, enhancing Courchevel’s global appeal.

By tapping into India’s growing outbound travel market, Courchevel aims to establish itself as a preferred winter destination for Indian travelers in the coming years.
