China to Host 9th South Asia Expo in Kunming from June 19
China is set to host the 9th edition of the China-South Asia Expo in Kunming, the capital of Yunnan province, from June 19 to 24, bringing together a wide array of businesses and trade representatives from South Asia and beyond.

This year’s event will witness significant participation from India and Pakistan, who will have the largest presence at the expo. The platform is expected to deepen trade and economic ties between China and the South Asian region, fostering greater collaboration across various sectors.

The expo will feature 11 themed halls, each showcasing key areas such as advanced manufacturing, clean energy, digital economy, modern agriculture, and other emerging industries. The multi-day event will also host business matchmaking sessions, investment promotion meetings, and cultural exchanges.

Since its inception, the China-South Asia Expo has grown into a significant international event, attracting thousands of enterprises and trade visitors annually. The 2025 edition aims to strengthen regional connectivity under the Belt and Road Initiative while providing South Asian countries access to Chinese markets and technologies.

Officials said the expo will not only enhance trade opportunities but also contribute to cultural and people-to-people exchanges between participating nations.

Traders and industry leaders from India, Pakistan, Nepal, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, and other South Asian countries are expected to showcase products ranging from textiles and handicrafts to electronics and agricultural goods.

The event underscores China’s growing interest in enhancing ties with South Asia and positioning Kunming as a gateway for trade and cooperation in the region.
