The Excise Department in Odisha seized brown sugar worth Rs 2 crore in a raid conducted in Balasore town on Sunday. Acting on a tip-off, excise officials raided a house in the Adarbazar area, where they recovered the contraband.

During the operation, one individual was arrested while another managed to escape. Balasore Excise Superintendent Sushanta Padhi confirmed the seizure and stated that further investigations are underway to track down the fugitive.

This successful operation highlights the efforts of the Excise Department to curb the illegal drug trade in the region.
