BJP Tribal Leader Mohan Majhi Sworn in as Odisha CM
In a historic political event, four-time MLA and tribal leader from Keonjhar district, Mohan Charan Majhi, was sworn in as the first BJP Chief Minister of Odisha on Wednesday. The swearing-in ceremony, held at Janata Maidan, was graced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, several Union ministers, and chief ministers from various states.
Majhi, 52, who hails from the Santhal community, took the oath of office and secrecy administered by Governor Raghubar Das. This marks a significant milestone for the BJP in Odisha, highlighting their focus on inclusive leadership and representation of tribal communities.
Alongside Majhi, senior BJP leader and Patnagarh MLA KV Singh Deo and newcomer Pravati Parida from the Nimapara assembly segment were sworn in as deputy chief ministers. Their induction is seen as a strategic move to strengthen the new administration with experienced and fresh perspectives.
