BJP Dismisses Congress’s ‘Discrimination’ Claim, Emphasizes Budget’s Long-Term Goals
NEW DELHI: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Wednesday dismissed the Congress’s allegations of “discrimination” against the Union Budget, emphasizing that the budget’s policy priorities are aimed at achieving a ‘Viksit Bharat’ (Developed India) by 2047.
During the Lok Sabha debate on the 2024-25 budget, BJP MP Bhartruhari Mahtab defended the budget, noting that its focus is on empowering the “neo-middle class.” He also stated that the recent general election results have not unsettled the government.
Mahtab argued that the budget reflects a continuation of the existing policy approach, with only minor concessions for NDA allies. He asserted that the approach seen in the interim budget has been further reinforced in the current one, reinforcing the government’s long-term vision and stability.
