AWS Marketplace Launching Soon in India

AWS to Launch Marketplace for Software Solutions in India

Amazon Web Services (AWS) announced on Wednesday that it will launch the AWS Marketplace in India later this year, a move aimed at transforming how enterprises discover and procure software solutions.

The AWS Marketplace will serve as a digital catalog that enables customers to find, test, and purchase a wide range of third-party software and services that run on AWS. The platform is already operational in other regions, but the Indian rollout will feature local innovations tailored to the unique needs of Indian enterprises.

Sandeep Dutta, President of AWS India and South Asia, unveiled the plans during his keynote at the AWS Summit in Bengaluru, calling it a transformative step for the Indian software ecosystem.

“Later this year, we will launch AWS Marketplace in India. Think of this as the UPI moment for enterprise software procurement. It’s going to be coming with India-specific features,” Dutta said.

By drawing parallels with India’s revolutionary Unified Payments Interface (UPI), Dutta emphasized the platform’s potential to simplify and accelerate enterprise software procurement, especially for startups, SMBs, and large corporations navigating the complexities of digital transformation.

The upcoming marketplace is expected to boost software adoption, streamline procurement, and provide Indian software vendors greater visibility and access to a wider customer base.

With India’s growing cloud ecosystem and increasing demand for digital solutions, the launch of AWS Marketplace is poised to become a key enabler for businesses of all sizes in their digital journeys.
