Medical experts are emphasizing the importance of raising awareness about Antenatal Hydronephrosis, a condition in which a fetus develops swelling in one or both kidneys due to urine buildup. While this condition may sound alarming, doctors say that with proper monitoring and care, it is highly manageable.

Antenatal Hydronephrosis is often detected during routine prenatal ultrasounds, sometimes as early as the first trimester of pregnancy. Experts suggest that early detection is key to managing the condition effectively and ensuring positive outcomes for both mother and baby.

Antenatal Hydronephrosis is one of those conditions that can be alarming for parents, but with proper monitoring, it is very much manageable.”

Antenatal Hydronephrosis can occur when the urine does not flow properly through the kidneys, leading to a buildup that causes swelling. Most cases are mild and resolve naturally as the pregnancy progresses.
