Ananya Panday Aims to Break Stereotypes with Upcoming Web Series ‘Call Me Bae’

MUMBAI: Actor Ananya Panday is set to make her web series debut with “Call Me Bae” and is determined to challenge the audience’s perception of her. Known for her roles in commercial films, Ananya is eager to break free from the image that has been associated with her since her debut in 2019’s “Student of the Year 2.”

“Call Me Bae,” directed by Collin D’Cunha and created by Ishita Moitra, follows the story of a privileged young woman from New Delhi who is disowned by her family, leading to a journey of self-discovery. The eight-episode series will premiere on Prime Video on September 6.

Ananya revealed that one of her biggest challenges is fighting the perception that both the audience and the industry have of her. She believes that the key to changing this image lies in being able to say no to roles that reinforce a certain stereotype.
