4 Arrested in Gujarat by Odisha Police Over ‘Digital Arrest’ Scam

Odisha Police apprehended four individuals from Gujarat for their alleged involvement in a “digital arrest” scam originating from Jharsuguda district. The arrests were announced by officials on Thursday.

The accused, all residents of Surat district, were taken into custody following a detailed investigation into the case filed on May 14, 2024, at Jharsuguda Sadar police station.

Jharsuguda SP Parmar Smit Parshottamdas said, “The arrests were made in connection with a digital arrest scam that came to light earlier this year. Our team conducted extensive tracking to nab the culprits.”

The scam reportedly targeted individuals through fraudulent online activities. Further investigations are underway to determine the extent of the operation and its impact on victims.

This successful operation underscores Odisha Police’s commitment to addressing cybercrime and bringing offenders to justice.
