Over 250 Virgin Atlantic Passengers Stranded in Turkey; Airline Working on Rescue Plans
More than 250 Virgin Atlantic passengers, including several Indian nationals, have been stranded in Turkey for over 24 hours after their Mumbai-bound flight from London was forced to make an emergency diversion due to a medical situation.
Flight VS358, which departed from London’s Heathrow Airport on April 2, had to land at Diyarbakır Airport in Turkey following a medical emergency on board. However, the flight was subsequently canceled, leaving passengers stuck at the airport.
Virgin Atlantic confirmed the incident in a statement and assured passengers that all efforts were being made to transport them to their final destination. “We are actively exploring all possible options, including arranging an alternative aircraft, to ensure our customers reach Mumbai as soon as possible,” the airline stated.
Many passengers expressed their frustration over the prolonged delay, citing inadequate facilities at Diyarbakır Airport and limited information about their onward journey. Some travelers took to social media, urging the airline to expedite alternative arrangements.
As Virgin Atlantic works on resolving the situation, affected passengers are hoping for a swift resolution to their unexpected travel disruption.
