Odisha police have arrested 10 individuals in connection with the assault on BJP-backed independent MLA Himanshu Sekhar Sahoo in Jajpur district.

The attack occurred Wednesday evening near a bridge over the Budha River under Jajpur Town police limits.

In his complaint, MLA Sahoo alleged that the attackers were supporters of BJD leader Pranab Prakash Das, popularly known as Bobby, and claimed they were sent with an intent to kill him.

Police are investigating the allegations, and security has been tightened in the area to prevent further unrest.
